Jipmer holds session on therapeutic diet

The concept of medical nutritional therapy was the theme of a public education session hosted by the Jipmer Health Education for All Forum on Tuesday.

About 300 people, including students from various colleges and members of the public, got to know from a panel of experts about healthy food and therapeutic diet for various diseases, health impact of unsafe food and importance of ensuring healthy lifestyle.

Line up of specialists

The session was led by specialists, including M. Vivekanandan, Additional Professor, Department of Medicine; Subitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Preventive and Social Medicine; Madhavi, Head, Department of Dietetics and Umasankari, junior dietician, Department of Dietetics, Jipmer, Puducherry.

Hena Melya and Prakash, medical social workers, facilitated the event.

The Jipmer Public Health Initiative series is being telecast to all medical colleges of South India under National Medical College Network (NMCN) Project through Jipmer Regional Resource Centre.
