‘I haven’t tried it on since my wedding five years ago and thought it might be great #transformationtuesday material. The craziest part is that I had already lost 35 pounds and I was feeling super skinny on my wedding day.’

She added: ‘What a crazy journey!’

When Shandra started her weight loss journey, she weighed 258 pounds, but has since shed an incredibly impressive amount, revealing that she currently tips the scales at just 166 pounds.

Revealing details about her weight loss journey on her website, Shandra said that while she was never more than ‘a little pudgy’ growing up, her weight started to creep up during adulthood.

‘I knew I was fat but I had a ton of friends, owned my own business, and had an amazing boyfriend (my now husband) who loved me despite my weight, so I just sort of ignored it. I kept telling myself I was “just a little pudgy” and maybe people didn’t really notice.’

However, when the scales tipped 258 pounds in 2012, and series of ’embarrassing occasions’ including not being able to fit into a seat in a roller coaster and at the Oprah show studio taping occurred, Shandra said she finally reached her ‘breaking point’.

She joined a gym and set herself a personal goal of going 21 days in a row, as she had heard it took this many days to form a new habit.

To improve her diet and learn how to eat better, the mom-of-two joined Weight Watchers and successfully lost 74 pounds in nine months.

She also revealed that she hovered around the 200 pounds mark for three years, during two pregnancies, and when her second son was seven months old, she ‘decided it was time to finish what I started’.

After ‘a lot of research’, she decided to embark upon a low-carb, ketogenic and gluten-free diet, and says for the first time in 15 years her IBS was under control and she dropped 22 pounds in two months.

Her goals weight is 158 pounds and Shandra has embarked on a December challenge on her DietBet page so she can achieve this number by Christmas.
